Anya Potatoes
I believe the only place you can buy Anya potatoes is from Sainsbury’s. The Anya potato has a slightly nutty flavour and a firm texture. Great plain boiled with a little bit of butter and seasoning, also good to serve in salads. We always cook more than we need for any single serving and keep them in the fridge. Once cold the Anya potato is great for frying in a knob of butter and served with a full breakfast. Developed by Mr Bartlett
These potatoes are a little expensive at £1.50 but are great for an occasional treat. They are my eldest daughters favourite potatoes ever so even better if you can pick them up when reduced. So I had nearly half a packet of the Anya potatoes left and I wanted to do something a little different.
UPDATE on Anya Potatoes
My local store had stopped stocking the Anya potatoes so I contacted their customers services department. They did reply and told me that they were having difficulty with the supplier. Great news that they are now back in stock at my local store on the 17/09/22

Ingredients
- 1/3 of pack of Anya potatoes (Sainsbury's)
- 15g of frozen pease
- Knob of butter
- Seasoning
- A handful of chives (from the garden)
- A handful of parsley (from the garden)
- 1/2 teaspoon of dried mint (mine isn't browning in the garden)
Instructions
Place the potatoes in salted boiling water around 20 minutes
5 minutes before the end of cooking the Anya potatoes add the frozen peas
When the potatoes are cooked (check with a knife)
Drain the potatoes and peas and then back into the pan straight away while its still hot
Now season with salt and pepper and the chopped herbs and butter
Now lightly crush the potatoes and give them a good stir so the seasoning, butter and herbs mix well with the peas and potatoes
serve with some great stew
Notes
The herbs I used were from the garden so use any that you have growing. If you don't have any then use dried herbs, the idea is to save money not spend it just to try and create one dish. Just improvise. If you are not sure how then I am happy to answer any questions
The Cheap Ingredients
Being thrifty on Cheap Dinner Ideas I always look at was of boosting flavour without spending money. Of to the garden in search of some suitable herbs.
